PUSAN -- Taiwanese helmer Chung Mong-Hong's surrealist drama "Parking" and helmer Shion Sono's Joe Odagiri starrer "Hazard" have been acquired for release in Canada by Evokative Films.
"Parking,"
about a divorced man searching for the owner of a car that is
double-parked next to his, preventing his exit and reunification with
his wife, played in the Pusan Film Festival's Window on Asian Cinema
section and is repped in international markets by Good Films Workshop.
"Hazard,"
an anarchic adventure in New York told from the POV of a naive Japanese
student, has been doing the festival circuit since 2007. Pic is repped
by Japanese sales outfit Eleven Arts.
Evokative has planned a
2009 DVD release for "Hazard" while "Parking" will be given a limited
theatrical release followed by a DVD release in summer 2009.
