PUSAN -- CJ Entertainment's period drama "Modern Boy" topped the Korean box office over the weekend.

was released on 379 screens on Thursday and grossed approximately $2
million from 400,000 admissions over the four-day weekend.
"Mamma
Mia!" slipped to No. 2 with approximately $1 million gross from 205,000
admissions, taking its cume to $17.7 million from 3.55 million
admissions to date.
Another local film, "GoGo 70s," opened at No.
3 on 377 screens, handled by Showbox. Pic, set in Korean nightclubs in
the 1970s, received better reviews than "Modern Boy" but grossed $1.46
million from 292,000 admissions.
Former B.O. topper, "The Divine
Weapon," came fourth adding $595,000 or 119,000 admissions on 268
screens. Pic has grossed $17.7 million from 3.56 million admissions,
slightly less than "Mamma Mia!"
Vin Diesel's sci-fi actioner "Babylon A.D." ranked at No. 5 in its first week, grossing $755,000 from 151,000 admissions.
Two lesser local films were included in the top 10 chart. SidusFNH's thriller "Truck" dropped down to No. 6, adding $465,000 from 93,000 admissions, taking its cume to $2.23 million and 447,000 tickets.
Jeon Do-yeon's
comeback drama, "My Dear Enemy," declined sharply to No. 9, with
$215,000 or 43,000 admissions on 236 screens. Pic's cume stands at a
lowly $1.62 million from 324,000 admissions.
