What a life! I mean that in a moany way as well as a good way.
I'm rather
glad that PPP and the Film Market are over. For a trade reporter these are
pretty full-on occasions as there are multiple overlapping events happening –
Variety had three reporters here and there were moments on Saturday and Sunday
when I felt that not to be enough.
But the worst
thing about being busy on the business side is that I don't get to see any
films. While I'm not here to review, I like to see films. And I actually think
it is important, fundamental even, for entertainment reporters to see a
selection of the things that they are writing about. Frustrating.
So with the
PPP prizes handed out at 8pm on Monday night, I got to see my first movie at
9pm.
I followed
that by holing up today in the Primus cinema and watched two more:
"Parking" from Taiwan and Korean hit "Public Enemy Returns."
That's more like it.
