TOKYO - The Fuji TV network and Production IG toon house are partnering on a feature-length, full-CG toon.

Titled "Hottarake no Shima: Haruka to Mahou no Kagami" (Hottarake Island: Haruka and the Magic Mirror) the toon will follow the adventures of a high schooler named Haruksa who finds herself, together with a talking fox, on a strange island filled with objects humans have discarded.

Producer Daisuke Sekiguchi, whose credits include the 2006 Fuji TV toon "Brave Story," originated the project, as well as developing dedicated software for its production, while Shinsuke Sato, who made the martial arts actioner "Princess Blade" (2001) and romantic drama "Sand Clock" (2007), is helming. Voice casting is still underway, but the pic is skedded for a 2009 summer bow.

Production IG's most recent feature toon is Mamoru Oshii's "The Sky Crawlers," which screened in competition this year at Cannes.
