BIFCOM wraps with a 'Common Declaration' Print E-mail

PUSAN - A spirit of region-wide co-operation pervaded this week's Busan International Film Commission and Industry Showcase. Event, which included some 460 official and unofficial business meetings and wrapped on Sunday afternoon.
The organizers announced that about 3,700 people attended at the annual showcase of 61 delegations from 14 countries, including new film commissions from Taipei, Jordan and Honolulu.
'Booth-buster' awards were presented to Japan's Kita Kyushu Film Commission as the most visited film commission and to Magic Vision as the most frequented company.
Event, which also included showcase and seminar on digital film restoration was venue for a demo of the tech proficiency of New Zealand's Park Road Post Production group, Korea's AZ Works and Hong Kong's Shaw Studios.
BIFCOM's new sideline, the Asia- Pacific Film Policy Forum wrapped with a 'Common Declaration' by 37 film policy institutions or organizations from 14 countries.
They agreed to work together to promote and develop the entire film and visual industry in the Asia-Pacific area, develop current industry policy and share information – as well as promise to realize those visions.
They also agreed that the film policy institutions will work in step with the film commissions of Asia Film Commission Network(AFCNet,) to hold the Film Policy Forum in future years and to use the catch phrase "Sell Asia."
