As
several folk have remarked, The Novotel where tomorrow's Asia Policy Forum will
take place, is not a new hotel. Rather it is a new name for a hotel that has in
fact changed names several times over. Last incarnation was a Marriott. Before
that it was something else.
Interesting to see that the Pusan authorities
appear to have renamed the road crossing as 'Novotel Junction.' What was it
called before? Can this be taken as a sign of permanence? Or will they rename
the streets again next year when the Novotel becomes the Hilton, or Motel
6?
