BEIJING -- Independent Chinese producer Jimmy Wu is planning to unveil
two productions this summer and will screen a new print of "Curiosity
Kills the Cat" at Cannes.
"Apart
We Fall" is a story of a group of young girls and boys and their
experiences growing up in China in the past 15 years, including SARS,
economic growth and changing values, Wu said.
"Lost Keys in 7 Days" is about the dramatic events that befall a young journalist after he loses his keys.
Last
year's "Curiosity Kills the Cat" had a battle getting printed and Wu
then cheekily put it in as a potential Chinese entry for the Oscar's
foreign-language film category, even though the authorities had already
rubberstamped Zhang Yimou's "Curse of the Golden Flower."
At Cannes, he will show a new print of "Curiosity" from Thailand Technicolor.
