HONG KONG -- Constantin Film has
acquired all German rights to "Eye In The Sky," a Hong Kong-set crimer that
preemed in Berlin and was the opening film of the Hong
Kong Int'l Film Fest.
Pic, sold by Hong Kong and
Amsterdam-based Fortissimo Films, is the directing debut of noted screenwriter
and long-time Johnnie To partner Yau Nai Hoi. It was produced by To's Milky Way
Image and Sundream Motion Pictures.
Deal, signed by Fortissimo co-chief Wouter Barendrecht and Constantin
acquisitions head Yoko Higuchi, is the first between the two companies. Pic was
previously licensed to ARP Selection for France.
Story is a cat and mouse game involving sophisticated jewel thieves and
police surveillance specialists. Pic stars Tony Leung Kar-fai, Simon Yam and
