"Host" takes gold at Chinese B.O. |

HONG KONG – Bong Joon-ho's "The Host" has spent two weeks at
#1 in the Chinese box office, passing 2006 film "Daisy" to become the best-selling Korean film ever in China.
According to producer Chungeorahm Film, pic has taken RMB9.16 million ($1.2 million) in its first two weeks, and given continued interest is likely to be given an extended release.
Release is handled by state-backed distributor Huaxia, which gave it a 280-print outing.
Chungeorahm prexy Choi Yong-bae is also hoping that the four prizes won by the pic at the first Asian Film Awards on Tuesday night will help to generate additional publicity within China.
Perf comes in the wake of earning $700,000 in North America in ten days, $1.05 million in Spain in three weeks, and $190,000 in Australia in ten days.
